An 8 year old's explanation of God

Hey everyone, I got an email that included the 8 year olds explanation of God. I hope you enjoy it and if you have a thought after reading it, then share it on the blog.

I love all of YOUth,
Dale

An 8 Year Old's Explanation Of God:

"One of God's main jobs is making people. He makes them to replace the ones that die, so there will be enough people to take care of things on earth. He doesn't make grownups, just babies. I think because they are smaller and easier to make. That way he doesn't have to take up his valuable time teaching them to talk and walk. He can just leave that to mothers and fathers."

"God's second most important job is listening to prayers. An awful lot of this goes on, since some people, like preachers and things, pray at times beside bedtime. God doesn't have time to listen to the radio or TV because of this. Because he hears everything, there must be a terrible lot of noise in his ears, unless he has thought of a way to turn it off."

"God sees everything and hears everything and is everywhere which keeps Him pretty busy. So you shouldn't go wasting his time by going over your mom and dad's head asking for something they said you couldn't have."

"Atheists are people who don't believ e in God. I don't think there are any in Chula Vista. At least there aren't any who come to our church."

"Jesus is God's Son. He used to do all the hard work, like walking on water and performing mira cles and trying to teach the people who didn't want to learn about God. They finally got tired of him preaching to them and they crucified him But he was good and kind, like his father, and he told his father that they didn't know what they were doing and to forgive them and God said O.K."

"His dad (God) appreciated everything that he had done and all his hard work on earth so he told him he didn't have to go out on the road anym ore. He could stay in heaven. So he did. And now he helps his dad out by listening to prayers and seeing things which are important for God to take care of and which ones he can take care of himself without having to bother God. Like a secretary, only more important."

"You can pray anytime you want and they are sure to help you because they got it worked out so one of them is on duty all the time."

"You should always go to church on Sunday because it makes God happy, and if there's anybody you want to make happy, it's God! Don't skip church to do something you think will be more fun like going to the beach. This is wrong. And besides the sun doesn't come out at the beach until noon anyway."

"If you don't believe in God, besides being an atheist, you will be very lonely, because your parents can't go everywhere with you, like to camp, but God can. It is goo d to know He's around you when you're scared, in the dark or when you can't swim and you get thrown into real deep water by big kids."

"But...you shouldn't just always think of what God can do for you. I figure God put me here and he can take me back anytime he pleases. And...that's why I believe in God."

Judgement House

Hey everyone. On one hand I apologize for us being so late the other night at the Judgement House, but on the other hand I don't apoligize because I know of at least one life that was forever changed by the experience.

Do any of you have anything that happened in your life as a result of the Judgement House experience? I hope you will share it with us. God might use your experience to change another life.

I love all of Youth,

God is doing awesome stuff around PBC

I know I shouldn't be, but I am amazed at God's movement within the PBC Youth. Let me share some of what God is doing in our midst. In the past 4 months we have added 3 new youth who accepted Christ. Welcome Robbie, Shannon and Cortney. In addition to these, 2 of the 9 new 6th grade youth have made professions of faith and joined Polkville Baptist. Welcome Spencer and Meredith. In addition to this a bunch of youth group members who have been attending Polkville Baptist or recently started attending have now joined Polkville Baptist. Welcome Taylor, Morgan, Ricky, Andrew, and Savanah.

If you can think of other awesome stuff that God has done in the PBC Youth Group lately, then let me know by posting it to this blog.

God deserves all the glory for how he is using YOU, the PBC YOUTH to impact the world.

I love all of you,
Dale

Matthew 6:33 Seek first...

You know, we concern ourselves with so much - How we look and smell, our wants and desires, how to get that girl or guy's attention, the newest styles of shoes and clothes, and the list goes on and on and on and on. Do you get the point? The list goes on and on and on.

The scripture below say "Seek first...". Take a minute to read these verses and especially verse 33. Enter your comments about how God is speaking to you through this verse.

As a little info boost before you read the scripture passage, where it say "his kingdom" it is referring to the Kingdom of God which is infact everything that Jesus has established and is establishing in our lives and in our world and in heaven. Think of it this way, (verse 33 paraphrased by Dale) "But seek first Jesus and His righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.

Matthew 6:31-33 (NIV) 31 So do not worry, saying, 'What shall we eat?' or 'What shall we drink?' or 'What shall we wear?' 32 For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. 33 But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.

I love all of you and I hope you have and awesome week. Come by church and see me after school one day if you have time.
